When raising Chinese fighting fish, they do not need to be given oxygen. Because they can breathe air directly. If the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the water is very low, they will swim to the surface and breathe the oxygen in the air. Therefore, it is not necessary to use oxygen when breeding. However, if the density of aquaculture is relatively large, oxygen pump can also be used to increase the content of dissolved oxygen in water. It makes them grow better.
The Chinese betta is relatively cold-resistant, and most species can adapt to water temperatures above 6 ℃. However, in cold water, they may be dormant and unable to grow normally. Therefore, in the actual breeding, it is recommended to use heating rods. Heater bars can help raise the temperature of the water in the winter, keeping it between 25-28 degrees Celsius and making them grow better.
When raising Chinese betta alone, you can do without a filter. Just change the water every 7 days or so. Because they prefer still water, the filter produces water flow, which affects their growth. However, if the breeding density is relatively large, it is recommended to use filters. This can help purify the water, prevent the waste of fish metabolism and feed residues from polluting the water, leading to water deterioration and affecting the growth of fish.
