Under natural conditions, the breeding season of the Bodhisattva fish is from April to August. But when they are cultured in captivity, they can lay eggs as long as the water temperature is suitable. So in artificial breeding, as long as the water temperature is adjusted, they may spawn all year round. But if the water temperature is not right, too high or too low, they can not mate and reproduce.
The most suitable temperature for the Bodhisattva fish to lay eggs is 26-27 ℃. At this temperature, the hatching rate of fish eggs is relatively fast. But. Their spawning temperature requirements are not so strict, and they can spawn in water slightly higher than 27 C and slightly lower than 26 C. It just takes longer for the eggs to hatch. In addition, if the water temperature is particularly high or low, they will not lay eggs.
Under the condition of artificial breeding, the adult Bodhisattva fish can lay eggs every month. But if you want them to lay eggs every month, you should control the water temperature between 26-27 degrees Celsius, and feed them some nutritious food to provide nutrients. If the water temperature is too low or the nutrition can not keep up, their reproductive frequency will drop to less than once a month. If the water temperature is too low or there is too little food, they may not be able to lay eggs.
