3. Abdomen difference: The abdomen of the male Bodhisattva fish is relatively flat, and generally does not bulge outward. The abdomen of the female fish is relatively large. During the breeding season, their bellies bulge noticeably and are easy to recognize.
4. Habit difference: During the breeding season, the rutting male fish will spit bubbles outward to build a bubble nest in order to reproduce, while most female fish do not have this habit. So with a few exceptions, most of the fish that spit bubbles during the breeding season are male fish.
In the juvenile period, Bodhisattva fish male and female can be raised together. But once they grow to more than 3cm, it is recommended to breed them in separate tanks. It is better to raise male fish alone, so that they can develop color more easily. Female fish can be raised in groups. If you want to mix the male and female fish, you need to use a larger tank to provide them with more space, so as not to fight for territory.
