Apple snail is easy to raise and belongs to ornamental snail. They don't require much food and can feed on plankton and algae in the tank, so they don't have to worry about being hungry. They do not require high water temperature, and can survive in water of 18-28 degrees Celsius. They do not require high water quality, and can be easily fed with tap water that has been aired.
When breeding apple snails, it is generally not necessary to use an oxygen pump. Because apple snails can float to the surface to breathe, there is no need to worry about their lack of oxygen. However, if the breeding density is particularly high, then oxygen pumps can also be used to pump some oxygen into the water. This can increase the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the water, so that the apple snail can grow better.
When breeding apple snails, they need to change the water. After a period of time, the water quality in the tank will be polluted by the feces of apple snails and food residues, and become unsuitable for the growth of apple snails. Therefore, it is necessary to change water regularly to ensure that the water quality is always suitable for the growth of apple snails. Do not change the water too often, otherwise it will affect their growth, about every 7 days or so.
