Domesticated apple snails can generally grow to about 2 cm in size. They are relatively small ornamental snails and do not grow very large. The largest individual can grow to about 2.5 cm long, and it is basically impossible to grow any longer.
1. Water quality: If you want to raise apple snails to grow up, you should use water with moderate hardness to breed them. Because this water contains a certain amount of calcium, which is very good for their shell growth. In addition, it is best to change the water once a week, and clean up the snail dung in the water tank when changing the water. This ensures that the water quality is always suitable for their growth.
2. Water temperature: The apple snail can adapt to the water temperature of 18-28 ℃, but it is more suitable to grow in the water of about 24 ℃. If the water temperature is too low, their activity will be very low and their growth rate will be very slow. Adjusting the water temperature to about 24 degrees Celsius can make them grow faster and bigger.
3. Feeding: If you want them to grow up, you should feed them snail food or other food every 1-2 days to provide them with nutrition. Although they can eat enough just by eating algae in the water, they can grow better by feeding them with special snail food.
When the apple snail grows to about 1 cm, it has the ability to lay eggs. Some precocious individuals can be used for reproduction when their body length is just over 0.5 cm.
