Apple snails are not suitable for cold water farming. After all, it belongs to the tropical ornamental snail, if the water temperature is too low, their activity will be reduced, not only will not reproduce, but also may be frozen, poor growth, if the water temperature is particularly low, they may also be frostbitten or frozen to death. Therefore, when breeding apple snails, cold water can not be used.
The optimum survival temperature of apple snail is 18-28 ℃. In practice, it is recommended to keep the water temperature at about 24 degrees Celsius. If the water temperature is too low, their activity will decrease. At about 18 degrees Celsius, they will not move and will not reproduce. If the temperature is too high, it will affect their life. When the water temperature is 28 C, their life span is significantly shorter than that when the water temperature is 24 C.
It is not necessary to use heating rods for breeding apple snails, but it is recommended to use heating rods. In winter, if the room temperature is high and the water temperature can be maintained above 18 C, the heating rod can not be used. But if the room temperature is low and the water temperature is below 18 C, then a heating rod is needed. Otherwise, they may get sick or have growth problems because the water temperature is too low.
