However, neither ordinary turtle food nor turtle food that promotes hair color can be fed as staple food for a long time.

1. Juvenile: Flame turtles eat miscellaneous food, and breeders can feed more animal feeds in their infancy. The more common ones are small fish, shrimp, red worms, snails, earthworms, etc. These foods have high nutrition, and breeders need to cut palatable small pieces before feeding. The flame tortoise in its infancy has a great demand for food, so it is best for breeders to feed it once a day, and the amount of each feed is 80% full.

2. Adulthood: Flame tortoises prefer plant feed after adulthood, and breeders can feed them more vegetables and fruits. Common ones are spinach, rape, lettuce, cucumber, pumpkin, apple, banana, etc. These foods are rich in vitamins, so breeders need to clean them before feeding to avoid pesticide residues. The demand for food for flame turtles in adulthood will be reduced, and breeders can feed them once every 2-3 days, and the amount of each feeding should be controlled at 6-70% full.
