Flame turtles can lay 5-10 eggs at a time. Usually, flame turtles living in the wild will lay more eggs at a time than those raised at home. Under normal circumstances, when flame turtles are brought home and raised for 7-8 years, they will mature and have the ability to lay eggs. They start mating in May of the same year, when the temperature is suitable for them to survive, and they are energetic at this time. They start laying eggs from June to September of the same year. They lay eggs four times a year, laying about 30 eggs a year.
2. Is the hatching rate of flame turtle eggs highThe hatching rate of flame turtle is not a quantitative, and its hatching rate is affected by the living environment. The hatching rate in the wild is lower than that in the family. The environment for survival in the wild is relatively harsh, so the hatching rate of eggs is low. But most of the hatched ones are healthier. The turtles raised at home provide them with a comfortable environment so that they can hatch more. On the contrary, if you meet a novice breeder, the hatching rate may not be as good as the hatching rate in the wild.
In artificial hatching, it is necessary to aim the eggs at the sunlight to observe whether they have been fertilized eggs. Generally, the rosy ones are fertilized eggs. Then put the fertilized eggs in an incubator of suitable size, spread fine sand in the incubator, and put the eggs in the fine sand. After that, the temperature is controlled between 25-32 ℃, and they are sprinkled with water every day for about 2-3 months, and they can hatch.
