Different flame turtles have different water level heights, and breeders need to decide the height of raising water level according to their different growth stages. Juvenile flame turtles can't live in deep water, because they are just born, have poor physical strength and insufficient swimming ability. If they are raised in deep water, they are likely to choke or drown. Therefore, the height of the water level of the flame turtles in their infancy should be consistent with the height of their carapace, so as to ensure that they can breathe normally.
As the size of the tortoise grows, so does the height of the water level. Although they are water turtles, they can't live in deep water, so breeders can control their water level to 1-2 times the height of their carapace, and no more than 2 times the maximum. If conditions permit, a balcony can be built in the container, so that they can have a place to bask in the sun and rest, and the water level can be deeper.
2. What is the appropriate water temperature for flame turtlesFlame turtles do not require high water temperature, as long as it is between 23-33 ℃, they can survive. However, the flame turtles in their infancy have higher requirements for water temperature, because they are just born and have poor adaptability to the environment. If the water temperature is too low, it will affect their growth and development. Therefore, it is best for young flame turtles to keep the water temperature at about 25 ℃, so as to avoid fluctuations and affect their normal life.
