There is a small amount of breeding in Guangxi Province of China, but spotted pond turtles are not Chinese varieties, and they are all artificially bred after being introduced from abroad.

2. Do spotted pond turtles need heatingAs mentioned above, spotted pond turtles belong to subtropical turtle species, so the requirements for water temperature are relatively high. If the water temperature is too low, their appetite and activity will be affected, and their growth and development will be slowed down. To raise spotted pond turtles at home, it is necessary to keep the water temperature at 22-30 ℃. If conditions permit, it can be kept at 25 ℃ all the time.
After the spotted pond turtle enters hibernation, if the water temperature is lower than 10 ℃, the breeder also needs to heat it. If the water temperature is lower than 10 ℃ when they hibernate, they may freeze to death. Breeders can keep the water temperature between 10-14 ℃ if they have the conditions.
