In addition, they need to climb to the water every day to bask in the sun. If they are farmed in deep water, it is inconvenient for them to bask in the sun. If breeders want to use deep water for breeding, they can build a balcony in the breeding container, so that they have a separate space to rest and bask in the sun.

As mentioned above, spotted pond turtle is not suitable for too deep water level, especially young spotted pond turtle, which is easy to drown when raised in deep water, so breeders can control the water level above the carapace. With the increase of their size, the height of water level can gradually increase. After they reach adulthood, the breeder can control the height of water level to 1-5 times the height of carapace, but the maximum should not exceed 5 times. In addition, if the water level is more than 3 times higher than the carapace, it is necessary to build a balcony for them, and they have a place to rest and bask in the sun.
