1. Environment: As a semi-water turtle, the toothed turtle needs both a land environment and a certain water environment to survive. The land needs to maintain a certain humidity, so coconut soil can be used as the land. The water area is mainly shallow, and the best water level is not over the turtle's back.
2. Diet: As an omnivorous turtle, the toothed margin turtle is relatively convenient to feed. In general, it is best to use live bait, such as shrimps and lean meat, which can enhance resistance.
3. Temperature: As a poikilotherm, it is extremely sensitive to temperature. High temperature and cold are not suitable for its growth, will trigger its dormancy, therefore, the most suitable temperature should be controlled at 20 to 30 degrees Celsius.
4. Deworming: The toothed margin turtle can carry some parasites, so we need to deworm it in time to prevent disease infection.
Generally speaking, turtles need to bask in the back. But the toothed turtle likes to hide in the water or in a dark corner, and is not too keen on drying its back. But you can also take the marginal turtle out to bask in the sun in the afternoon, which can enhance resistance and promote growth and development, but not too long, one to two hours.
