Red-faced egg turtles don't need 24-hour sunlight. Most egg turtles belong to nocturnal turtles. Except for some who like to bask in their backs, they bask in the sun for 2-3 hours every day. If the sun is strong in summer, they can bask in the sun for half an hour. If red-faced egg turtles stay in deep water without exposure to the sun, their carapace will rot, which will affect their health. When raising, prepare a place for them to bask in the sun for their backs. Sunbathing can improve the immunity of egg turtles, make them less likely to get sick, and promote their absorption of nutrients, so that they can grow faster.
2. How to breed red-faced egg turtlesRed-faced egg turtles are very cold-resistant, and they need to spend the winter indoors when breeding in northern China, so it is necessary to build indoor ponds and outdoor ponds when breeding. Cultivate outdoors from June to November, and indoors from December to May of the following year. Outdoor breeding environment should be quiet, ventilated, sunny and well-ventilated. The water temperature for indoor culture should be kept at 24-32 ℃. Indoor and outdoor farming should have clean water quality and sufficient water source. Generally, pollution-free river water, reservoir water and tap water should be selected as water sources.
When setting the feed table, it should be set 0.2 meters away from the edge of the pool and 0.2 meters into the water, so as to facilitate feeding and observe the turtle's diet. The feed table is made of wood, cement or other hard materials, which is generally square, with a side length of 0.3-0.6 meters and a width of 0.2-0.3 meters on the water surface.
