Red-faced egg turtles can't tolerate low temperature, because the temperature in their place of origin is relatively high, even in winter, the temperature is not very low, so they won't hibernate in their place of origin. If the water temperature is lower than 20 ℃ when they are raised artificially, their resistance and immunity will decline rapidly, and they will get sick frequently, which will lead to poor physique. If the water temperature is lower than 8 ℃, they will go into hibernation. However, they are very sensitive during hibernation. If the environment changes greatly during hibernation, they will die. Therefore, when breeders breed, the water temperature should not be lower than 20 ℃. If conditions permit, heating rods can be installed for constant temperature.

Raising red-faced egg turtles can keep the water temperature between 25-33 ℃. They belong to tropical turtles and were introduced into China in modern times, so the requirements for water temperature are relatively high. If the water temperature in which they are raised is lower than 24 ℃, their activity and food intake will decrease. If the water temperature is lower than 18 ℃, it will affect their health. Especially in winter, it is best for breeders to transfer them indoors for winter, and then raise them at a higher temperature, so as not to let them hibernate as much as possible.
