Red-faced egg turtles need to be warmed in winter, because they are not native turtles in China, and they have been introduced in modern times. Their origin is tropical, and the temperature in tropical areas is relatively high. Even in winter, the temperature will not be lower than 10 ℃, so it is best to warm them in artificial breeding. Moreover, the red-faced egg turtle has low resistance and immunity in low temperature environment, and it is very easy to get sick. The suitable living water temperature of red-faced egg turtles is between 25-33 ℃, and breeders can use heating rods to keep the water temperature in this temperature range to avoid the temperature difference affecting their normal life.
2. Do red-faced egg turtles need to hibernateRed-faced egg turtles can hibernate or not, because as mentioned above, wild red-faced egg turtles are all in tropical areas, and the temperature in winter is not very low, so wild red-faced egg turtles do not hibernate.
Whether captive red-faced egg turtles hibernate depends on the individual decision of the breeder. If the water temperature is low, they will go into hibernation. However, after they enter hibernation, they are sensitive to environmental changes. Once the environment fluctuates, it will affect their health and life. Therefore, I personally suggest that it is best not to let red-faced egg turtles enter hibernation. After entering winter, breeders only need to keep the water temperature above 20 ℃, and they can spend the winter safely.
