Red-faced egg turtles are not fierce among turtle species, and can be mixed with other kinds of turtles. However, the main principle of polyculture is that the polyculture varieties are similar in size, or the tame in temperament is larger than the fierce in temperament. If the difference in individual size is too obvious, the smaller one will be easily injured or damaged, and even die seriously. Red-faced egg turtles live in rivers and marshes with slow water flow. It is a kind of turtle that doesn't like the strong sunlight. During the day, it almost always hides in a dark corner and spends the strong light stage. After the sun goes down, it will come out to bask in its shell. They generally move at night, looking for food under the water, and their main food is small fish, shrimp and worms. During the hot summer in the south, some red-faced egg turtles sleep in summer, and when the hot season has passed, they will enter the water again.

The origin of red-faced egg turtle does not hibernate, and the weather in the north is cold in winter. If it is allowed to hibernate in water with a water temperature of 8 ℃, it will hibernate until the stinging period of the second year before waking up. During hibernation, some unhealthy individuals will die and miss the laying period, so it is necessary to heat up when raising in winter.
