The aquarium usually needs to be oxygenated for about 2-4 hours a day, but in summer or rainy days, the oxygenation time will be extended to 4-6 hours. If there are aquatic plants in the tank, it needs to be oxygenated for 1-2 hours in the evening every day. This is because the aquatic plants will not release oxygen when they breathe at night, so they need to supplement oxygen to the water.
1. Oxygenation equipment: The simplest way to increase the amount of dissolved oxygen in the fish tank is to install an oxygenation equipment. The common oxygen pump is to pump air into the water. Although this equipment can supplement oxygen, it also has certain defects, such as too much noise or water flow. In addition to the oxygen pump, the filtration system can also pump oxygen into the water, so it is more practical.
2. Change the water regularly: In addition to using professional oxygenation equipment, you can also increase the dissolved oxygen when changing the water. The oxygen content of the new water is higher. In this way, part of the old water is discharged. After adding the new water, the oxygen content will also increase. However, the water should not be changed too frequently, and the amount of water should not be too large, otherwise the stimulation to the fish is not conducive to its survival.
3. Aquatic plants: Like terrestrial plants, aquatic plants can release oxygen through photosynthesis, thereby increasing the oxygen content of water. It should be noted that the plants can not be too much, otherwise the night respiration will compete with the fish for oxygen.
