Guppies may or may not have a filtration system installed. Because guppy is small and its metabolism is not high, the pollution to water quality is not serious. Breeders usually change water in time, and regularly clean up food residues and feces in fish tanks, so as to keep the water quality clean even without changing water.
But some breeders will install filtration systems, because filtration systems can slow down the deterioration of water quality and clean up food residues and feces in fish tanks. And the filtration system can also provide a small amount of oxygen in the water, so some breeders will choose to install it. After installing the filtration system, the frequency of changing water can be reduced, which is more suitable for fish farmers with insufficient time.
2. Do guppies need an oxygen pumpUnder normal feeding conditions, guppies may not be equipped with an oxygen pump. Because their demand for oxygen is not very high, they generally do not suffer from hypoxia under normal feeding.
However, it is recommended to install an oxygen pump when the feeding density is too high. Because there are too many fish, the consumption of oxygen will increase. Breeders need to use oxygen pumps to increase the amount of dissolved oxygen in water. In addition, when the air pressure is low or the air temperature is high, the oxygen consumption speed is relatively fast, so the breeder also needs to turn on the oxygen pump when encountering high temperature weather.
