The reproductive mode of fish is mostly oviparous, some are fertilized in vivo, some are fertilized in vitro, some of the fertilized fish will hatch the eggs out of the body, and some will hatch in the body, thus giving birth to small fish, this way is called ovoviviparous. Usually, if domestic fish want to breed, they need to prepare special breeding tanks, put the fish in them, wait for their mating and spawning, and the eggs will grow into small fish after hatching.
How Fish Reproduce, How Fish Reproduce

1. Reproductive methods

There are many kinds of fish, and the reproductive methods are mainly oviparous. Chondrichthyes are mostly internal fertilization, in addition to oviparous, there are ovoviviparous. The fish of Osteichthyes are fertilized in vitro, most of them are oviparous, and a few of them develop through metamorphosis. Usually during the breeding season, fish will mate and release their eggs, which will hatch once the time has passed. There are also some eggs hatched in the body after the discharge of larvae.

2. Propagation of farmed fish

1. Preparation for propagation: Before the farmed fish is prepared for propagation, a special propagation pond or propagation tank is required, so as to avoid being disturbed by other fish during spawning and ensure the safety of the fish eggs and parent fish. Usually the temperature of the breeding pond and the breeding tank is slightly higher than the normal water temperature, which is very helpful for spawning and hatching eggs.

2. Parent fish pairing: After the breeding site is prepared, the parent fish can be released according to a certain ratio of male to female. Usually the time of fish reproduction is in the evening or night, so we should pay attention to observation, usually after reproduction, we need to fish out the parent fish in time to prevent them from swallowing fish eggs. The parent fish can not be immediately put back into the original tank, otherwise it will be attacked, need to be raised alone for a period of time, and then put back into the original tank after recovery.

3. Culture of young fish: Different kinds of fish eggs need different incubation time. Usually, on the first day of incubation, they do not need to be fed, and they can continue to consume the yolk sac. Wait until the next day can be fed a little suitable for them to eat the fish feed, the body is very small can be fed to the migratory water, a little bigger can be fed to small fish and insects.
