The tortoise does not lay eggs all the year round. Its breeding period is from April to August. It can lay eggs 3-4 times a year, with an interval of about 10-25 days each time. Usually each will produce 5-8, want to ensure hatching, must control the temperature, the temperature control between 27-30 C, too high or too low will affect reproduction. Before laying eggs, the female needs to find a piece of sandy soil so that she can lay eggs in it instead of in the water.
1, breeding time: turtles are generally more active when the temperature is higher, low temperature is not active, and even hibernate, so the breeding time is generally in warm weather, usually from April to August, different areas will be ahead of time or delayed. During the breeding season, female and male turtles need to pair up so that they can lay fertilized eggs.
2. Prepare sand: After the tortoise is pregnant, it must be provided with a good spawning site. If there is no suitable spawning site, it will lay its eggs directly into the water. Generally, sandy soil with a certain humidity is used as a spawning ground, and when female turtles want to lay eggs, they will automatically dig holes in the sandy soil and lay eggs inside.
3. Waiting for hatching: If the temperature and humidity of the sandy soil are suitable, the tortoise eggs will come out of the shell after 50-60 days. After hatching, there will be a hatching tooth on the head, which will fall off automatically in about a week. At the same time, its navel will be slowly absorbed, and it does not need to be fed before it is absorbed.
