Misgurnus anguillicaudatus is a small demersal fish. It has strong adaptability and high tolerance to low dissolved oxygen environment. It can survive for a long time after leaving the water. The young fish can live for one hour, while the adult fish can live for about six hours. Moreover, it can move normally when it is put back into the water during this period.
