In terms of size, the female turtle is more rounded than the male turtle. Secondly, from the part of the plastron, due to the need of reproduction, the abdomen of male turtles has a very obvious depression, while the abdomen of female turtles is relatively flat.
Again, from the cloaca, the male cloaca is closer to the tip of the tail, and the shape is long, while the female cloaca is closer to the edge of the plastron, and the shape is convex and round. Finally, from the point of view of the tail, the tail of male turtles is more robust and shorter than that of female turtles.
In general, male and female turtles can be raised together. First of all, in terms of personality, the yellow-margined box turtle is relatively mild, and generally does not easily attack other turtles. Secondly, after breeding together, through sexual maturity, natural reproduction may also occur.
