In general, crystal shrimp is not a good ornamental shrimp. Because it is more delicate, water quality, water temperature requirements are higher, and not easy to breed. If the water temperature is lower than 18 C or higher than 26 C, the water is alkaline, and the dissolved oxygen in the water is insufficient, they can not grow normally. Therefore, it is not recommended for novices to breed crystal shrimp directly, and it is recommended to start with better shrimp such as black shell shrimp.
Crystal shrimp and fish can be raised together, but not with large fish, only with small tropical fish. Because large fish will feed on crystal shrimp. Put them in the same tank with the crystal shrimp, and the crystal shrimp will probably be eaten. In addition, the newly born young shrimp are very small and can not be kept in the same tank with the fish. Or they'll get eaten, too.
Crystal shrimp is suitable for small ornamental fish with small size, weak aggression and mild temperament. The more common fish that can be mixed with crystal shrimp are Lotus Lantern Fish, Elf Fish, Traffic Light Fish, Moonlight Fish, Red Nose Scissors Fish and so on. When farming, it is better to plant some aquatic plants in the tank and put some shrimp pots. In addition, it should be noted that newborn shrimp can not be raised with fish, and need to be raised separately.
