The reproductive capacity of crystal shrimps is relatively strong. In a suitable breeding environment, they can reproduce once every 2-3 months. Taken together, they can reproduce five to six times a year. When breeding, it is recommended to use a separate breeding tank. In this way, it is convenient to adjust the water quality and more conducive to their reproduction.
The newly born young shrimps are not fully developed and do not have the ability to reproduce. When they grow for a period of time and their body length reaches about 1.6-1.8 cm, they can be regarded as adults. At this point, they have the ability to reproduce, can be used as a species of shrimp breeding offspring.
It is more difficult for crystal shrimp to breed, because the requirement for water quality is relatively high. Specifically, it is recommended to use water with a pH of 6.2 to 6.8, a GH of 4 to 6, and a TSD of 150 to 220. In addition, during the breeding period, it is better to control the water temperature between 24-26 degrees Celsius.
The hatching speed of the crystal shrimp eggs is relatively fast. After 1-2 weeks of successful mating, the shrimp eggs can hatch out of the shrimp.
It is recommended that the newly hatched crystal shrimp be raised separately and not mixed with fish. Because they are small, they can be eaten by fish. If there is sediment and aquatic plants in the water, it is generally not necessary to feed. But if you are afraid that they will starve to death, you can also sprinkle some microbial powder into the water to give them food.
