The golden-headed turtle is moderately difficult to raise, but in view of its own characteristics, it is not recommended to be raised by novices. It belongs to a terrestrial turtle, adult turtles can live out of the water, and the adaptability to temperature is relatively strong, generally speaking, between 20-30 C is the most suitable for its growth. When feeding them, we should pay attention to that they mainly eat meat, not fruits and vegetables. Feeding should be carried out with the change of temperature, feeding more when the temperature is higher and feeding less when the temperature is lower.
1. Temperature: During the breeding process, it is necessary to keep the temperature between 20 and 30 ℃, preferably 28 ℃, so as to facilitate its eating.
2. Water quality: Young turtles need to live in water. Before breeding, tap water needs to be exposed to the sun to remove chlorine substances. To keep clean, change the water once or twice a week in general. When the temperature is high, water needs to be changed every day, one third or one quarter of each time.
3. Feeding: Earthworms, fish and shrimps can be mainly fed, and some fruits and vegetables can also be fed. The ratio of meat to vegetables should be controlled at 7:3. In summer, when the temperature is high, the feeding amount accounts for about 5% of the body weight, and when the temperature is low, it automatically decreases, accounting for about 2% of the body weight.
