1. Temperature: The temperature for raising Cuora serrata should be controlled at 25 ~ 30 ℃. They are afraid of high temperature, if the temperature exceeds 32 C, they may enter the "aestivation" state. If the temperature is below 12 ℃, they may hibernate. But pay attention to the temperature, not below 4 degrees Celsius, otherwise they will die.
2. Humidity: Box turtles like to live in a cool and ventilated environment, and it is best to control the humidity in the air between 75% and 95%.
3. Light: Feeding box turtles needs to provide them with sufficient light conditions, which can promote their calcium absorption. UVB lamp can be used to meet that light requirement.
4. Feeding: When feeding Cuora serrata, it is necessary to ensure balanced nutrition and sufficient food. You can feed some turtle food, or you can feed some cereals or vegetables and fruits that contain more starch or vitamins. They also eat some animal food, such as earthworms, loaches, snails and so on. Be careful not to feed pork, or you may have indigestion. It is better to choose early morning or evening when feeding.
5. Water quality: Treated water is needed to raise box turtles. Mineral water, pure water and tap water are all OK. However, when using tap water, it is necessary to dechlorinate the tap water first, otherwise it is likely to have gastroenteritis.
Serrated box turtle is very good to raise, they have a strong ability to adapt. When feeding, it needs to meet the conditions of temperature, humidity, light, food, water quality and so on. So that they can grow normally.
