Red-legged tortoises do not need to hibernate. They originally come from warmer climates, and if they are raised in captivity, there is no need to change their living conditions, let alone force them to hibernate, otherwise their healthy growth will be affected. Under normal maintenance conditions, the temperature can be adjusted to 24-30 ℃, the most appropriate temperature difference between day and night should not exceed 5 ℃, if conditions permit, it is best to put them indoors for maintenance.
In winter, their living areas can be heated to help them survive the winter safely. In winter, the temperature can be kept at about 27 ℃. The difference between the indoor temperature and the temperature of their living areas should not be too large.
The red-legged tortoise does not need to hibernate, let alone artificially force it to hibernate. Their original living environment is warm and humid, and when they are raised in captivity, they only need to provide a similar growing environment. Usually, according to the changes of weather and season, the temperature and humidity of their living areas can be adjusted so that the temperature throughout the year remains in a constant warm state, and the humidity should not be less than 70%.
