The betta is a type of Thai betta that can be raised with other fish, but is more suitable for monoculture. Because they are fierce and aggressive, especially male fish, they may attack other fish when they are in mixed culture, so they are more suitable for monoculture than mixed culture. However, this does not mean that it can not be raised with other fish. As long as enough space is provided and the right fish are selected to be mixed with it, polyculture is also feasible.
1, rat fish: Rat fish and half moon fighting fish belong to tropical fish, like the water temperature is similar. Rat fish is the lower layer of fish, generally only in the bottom of the tank activities, and will not fight for territory and betta. Therefore, there is a high probability that there will be no problem when they are mixed.
2, Poeciliformes: The half-moon fighting fish can also be mixed with some small poeciliformes, such as moonlight fish, Mickey fish, Mary fish and so on. These fish are small and relatively agile, and are not easily attacked by bettas. However, the number of mixed culture should not be too large, and enough space should be given to the fish to grow.
If mixed culture is required, a larger tank must be used. This is the most critical. The half-moon fighting fish is very territorial and will attack those fish that intrude on their territory. If the tank is large enough, the probability of other fish invading its territory will be reduced, and the probability of fighting will also be reduced.
