Generally, the domesticated green arowana can grow to 50-60cm in length. If the breeding conditions are superior, then their body length may grow to about 80cm. It is a relatively large ornamental fish, so it should be cultured in a relatively large tank. For monoculture, it is recommended to use a large fish tank with a length of more than 1.5 m, a height of more than 0.7 m and a width of more than 0.5 m. If you want to mix the fish, you should use a larger tank.
Generally, the green arowana can live for about 20 years. In the home, if the breeding environment is more in line with its growth needs, then it can live for about 20 years. But if the breeding environment is relatively poor and can not meet its normal needs, then it can only live for more than 10 years. Therefore, if you want to make it live longer, you must provide it with a suitable environment.
If you want the green arowana to live longer, you should use water with a temperature of 24-28 ℃ to raise it. In the process of aquaculture, it is very important to ensure that the water temperature does not change too much. We should feed it some nutritious food. It can be fed twice a day when it is young, and once a day when it is adult. Each feeding should pay attention to control the amount of feed, can not feed too much, otherwise it may grow poorly. Also, change the water once a week. The frequency of wat exchange can be properly increased dure that period of young fish, and the water exchange is carried out once every 3-4 days.
