The average golden mousse can live for about 5 years. It likes to live in water at about 26 degrees Celsius and can adapt to water temperature conditions of 15-30 degrees Celsius. But if the water temperature is lower, it will easily get sick.
In most cases, the golden mousse is considered to be an adult after about three months from hatching. At this point, they are sexually mature and ready to reproduce. The female usually lays her eggs in the morning or at dusk. Before laying eggs, they will first hold the semen ejaculated by the male fish in their mouths, send it to rocks or leaves of aquatic plants, make it stick, and then lay eggs on it to complete fertilization. After spawning, the eggs will stay in the water and hatch after about 1-3 days.
