The golden moss is not a cold-water fish, but a tropical fish. It is a yellow species of moss fish belonging to the family Diporidae, and its scientific name is Phnom Penh Diporus. They are native to Thailand and belong to tropical fish.
Golden moss has strong vitality and can adapt to the water temperature of 15-30 ℃. However, if the temperature is very low, they will grow very slowly and will easily get sick. They prefer to grow in water at about 26 degrees Celsius rather than in cold environments.
It is recommended to use a heating rod to raise the golden moss. Because the heating rod can help keep the water temperature from changing sharply in a short time, it can also heat up in winter and make the water warmer. Therefore, the use of heating rods in breeding is beneficial to the growth of golden mosses. However, if the home is warm and the water temperature can be adjusted when changing the water, it is possible to do without the heating rod.
Golden mosses are not suitable for breeding with cold water fish. Because the golden moss is a tropical fish, the water temperature is different from that of cold-water fish. It is not easy to adjust the water temperature when the two kinds of fish are raised together. Golden mosses are especially unsuitable for breeding with goldfish. Because they like to suck fish, goldfish swimming speed is not fast, it is easy to be sucked by the golden moss rat, there is a problem of rotten scales, and then infected with bacteria died.
