The Victoria phoenix fish is the largest bream species, with an adult body length of about 7 cm. Although they are larger than other breams, they are not large among all ornamental fish. They are gentle and can be farmed with other tropical fish. However, be careful not to put them in a tank with much larger fish, or they may be attacked or even eaten.
Because even in adulthood, Bolivian phoenix fish can only grow to about 7 cm, so they can be raised in a relatively small aquarium or fish tank. Specifically, a small cylinder with a length of about 30 cm can be used. If you want to breed a large number of fish, you need to use a large tank, and control the breeding density, so that too many fish in the tank cause hypoxia.
The life span of the Bolivian phoenix fish is about 2-3 years, which is not too long. They can live a little longer if the breeding environment is suitable, but they usually live only about three years, not longer. If the breeding environment is poor, such as lack of food and low water temperature, their life span will be shortened.
