The radiated tortoise is a medium-sized tortoise. They are the largest of the star-shaped turtles, growing up to 40 centimeters long in adulthood. They eat a lot, but they grow slowly. Under normal feeding conditions, most of them can grow to about 30 centimeters long, only a part of them can grow to about 40 centimeters long. In order to meet their growth needs, calcium powder needs to be added to their food once a week to promote its growth.
The life span of the radiation tortoise is relatively long, and most of them can live for 50-60 years. In different growth environment, their life span is also different, usually the captive tortoise has a shorter life span than the wild tortoise.
If they want to grow better and live longer, they need to provide a warm and dry living environment and feed healthy and non-toxic food. When breeding, we should observe the abnormal situation and take timely measures to deal with it. Most of them can live to about 50 years old under suitable conditions. Turtles that live in the wild usually live to about 80 years old. At present, the highest recorded record is over 100 years old.
