After fertilization, the eggs laid by parrot fish can hatch small fish in about 2-3 days. If breeders want them to hatch faster, they can keep the hatching temperature above 28 ℃. In the high temperature environment, the hatching speed of fish eggs will be accelerated. Although high temperature can speed up hatching, the water temperature should not exceed 30 ℃, otherwise fish eggs may not hatch. Parrot fish cannot hatch small fish if their eggs are not fertilized by other males.
2. How to raise small parrot fish1. Water temperature: Newborn small parrot fish have high requirements for water temperature, and breeders need to keep the water temperature between 28-29 ℃. It is best to install heating rods to keep the water temperature constant.
2. Water quality: Parrot fish and small fish do not require very high water quality, so breeders only need to ensure that the water quality they live in is clean. Usually, you can change water once every three days, and the amount of water changed each time can be controlled at one third of the total amount of water.
3. Oxygen: Parrot fish are born with respiratory defects, especially small fish, which have poor adaptability to the environment. Breeders need to install an oxygen pump to keep enough dissolved oxygen in the water.
4. Feeding: Parrot fish do not need to be fed for the first 3 days of birth, because they carry enough vitellotin from their mother. After they are born for 3 days, breeders can feed some rich shrimp eggs, water fleas, cooked egg yolks and other foods.
