How long can parrot fish live without oxygen depends on the density of feeding and the cleanliness of water quality. Under normal feeding conditions, parrot fish can last for about one day without oxygen. If the feeding density is low and the water quality is clean. Then the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water will be relatively more, and they can last longer, generally for 2-3 days.

If the water quality of parrot fish is poor and the breeding density is high, the dissolved oxygen in their water will not be much and the persistence time will be shorter. Under normal circumstances, hypoxia will occur if you persist for up to 4 hours. If the breeder can't give them oxygen in time, they will die.

If it is in spring or summer, the breeder can live without heating the parrot fish. Because parrot fish don't require high water temperature, they can grow in water temperature between 20-30 ℃. The temperature in spring and summer is relatively high, so they can survive even if they are not heated.

But in winter, the temperature is relatively low, and it is difficult for breeders to survive without heating it up. Because the temperature in most parts of China can't reach above 20 ℃ in autumn and winter, parrot fish will grow in low temperature environment for a long time, and its physique will gradually deteriorate, eventually leading to death. Therefore, in autumn and winter, it is best for breeders to install heating rods to keep the water temperature between 25-30 ℃.
