The Arowana raised at home can reproduce, but the Arowana needs the opposite sex to reproduce. It is difficult for Arowana raised in general families to distinguish male fish from female fish, because the shapes and habits of male fish and female fish are very similar, and even experienced breeders can't accurately collect feces. Secondly, they are relatively large in size and fierce in character, when male and female are paired together. It is easy to have insufficient space and fight. Finally, their adaptability is relatively poor, but when they breed, they need to be transferred to the breeding tank. Once the environment changes greatly, they will feel uncomfortable. Therefore, although the Arowana raised at home can reproduce, it is difficult to reproduce.
2. How do Arowana reproduceArowana is one of the most difficult tropical fish to reproduce. If breeders want them to reproduce, they must wait for them to mature and find a similar opposite sex to pair. When pairing, in order to prevent them from fighting, two fish can be separated by a partition to make them familiar with each other's existence first. After they are in heat, remove the partition, so that they can be paired successfully.
After successful pairing, the female fish will produce eggs and the male fish will excrete sperm. In order to ensure the smooth hatching of small fish, male fish will contain fertilized eggs in their mouths, so breeders should fish out the male fish immediately after they discharge sperm, and don't let them hatch with eggs. Then put the fertilized eggs in a special hatching tank and keep the water temperature at 28 ℃ for about 40 days, and the small fish can hatch.
