It is not difficult to raise parrot fish, they are a kind of fish with solid skin. Although they are tropical fish, the requirements for water temperature are not strict, and they can grow in lower water temperature. As long as the breeder ensures that their living environment is stable and food is sufficient, they can grow normally.

But parrot fish need more oxygen than other fish, so breeders need to install an oxygen pump to ensure sufficient dissolved oxygen in water.

1. Water temperature: Parrot fish do not require high water temperature, and they can grow in water temperature between 20-30 ℃. Artificial breeding of parrot fish can keep the water temperature between 25-30 ℃. In this temperature range, their activity is the highest and their growth speed is also the fastest.

2. Water quality: Parrot fish like to grow in weak acidic soft water, and the PH value can be kept between 6.5 and 7.0 when being reared artificially. If the water quality is hard, you can choose to boil it before using it. The metabolism of parrot fish is fast, and the breeder needs to change the water once every 2-3 days to ensure the clean water quality. If conditions permit, it is best to install a circulating filtration system to slow down the deterioration of water quality.

3. Feeding: Parrot fish has a miscellaneous diet and can eat more food. Breeders can usually feed them some red worms, bread worms, yellow mealworms, bumper shrimps, water fleas, water lice, water earthworms, lean meat, animal viscera and other foods. These foods contain more protein and fat, which can meet the nutrients needed for their growth and development. In addition, parrot fish need to be fed some colorful feed regularly to ensure their bright body color.
