The suitable water level depth of crocodile turtles is different at different stages, and the breeder can adjust the water level according to their body shape. If crocodile turtles are newborn, it is best for them to live at a water level consistent with the height of their carapace. Because they were born shortly, their adaptability to the environment and physical strength are poor, so they are not suitable for breeding in deep water.
When they reach adulthood, the water level can be controlled at 2-3 times the height of their carapace. Because their physical strength will increase as adults, and they will last longer in water. An adult crocodile turtle can dive for 3 hours. Deep water feeding is more conducive to their growth and development. Although they are deep-water turtles, they are not suitable for moving in particularly deep water, so the water level for raising them should not exceed 3 times of their carapace at most.
2. What degree is it suitable for crocodile turtlesCrocodile turtles have strong adaptability. They can survive at the water temperature before 3-45 ℃, but when the water temperature is lower than 15 ℃, they will go into hibernation. When the water temperature is lower than 10 ℃, they will go into deep hibernation. The water temperature can be kept between 20-33 ℃ for artificial breeding of crocodile turtles. If conditions permit, the water temperature can be kept between 25-28 ℃ by using a heating rod. This can improve their metabolism and accelerate their growth and development.
