Pearl turtles grow about 1-2 cm in a year, and their growth rate is relatively slow, and how big they can grow in a year has a great relationship with the breeding environment and methods. Pearl turtles are large in size. If the breeding space is not enough, their growth rate will be slow, and some will stop growing. Because the lack of space will affect their body development and limit their activities, they will grow slowly. Even if the breeding environment is comfortable and the space is sufficient, they can only grow by 2-3 cm a year, and will not exceed 3 cm at most.

The body length of pearl turtles in adulthood is mostly about 28 cm, and some larger pearl turtles can reach about 30 cm. However, their body length has a great relationship with their sex. If they are raised in the same environment, the size of female turtles will be larger, about 25-30 cm. Male turtles will be smaller, about 15 cm.

Besides sex, the environment in which they are raised also has a great influence on their body shape. If there is enough room and food, they will be bigger. If there is not enough room for feeding, even if there is enough food, the body will not grow very big.
