The water temperature of razor turtle is suitable between 25-28 ℃, because their wild ambient temperature is relatively high, so the water temperature should be kept in this temperature range when artificially cultured. In this temperature range, their appetite and activity are the highest, so their growth rate is also the fastest. Although razor turtles like higher water temperature, their adaptability is relatively strong, and they can survive in water temperature between 20-30 ℃.
In addition, the temperature in the origin of razor turtles is so high that they will not hibernate even in winter. Razor turtles can be kept at a constant temperature by using heating rods to prevent them from hibernating. If there is no heating rod, they can also go into hibernation, but after going into hibernation, the water temperature should be kept at about 10 ℃.
2. How high the water level of razor turtles is appropriateThe water level of razor turtles depends on their body shape. Generally speaking, the water level of razor turtles in infancy can be lower, because their swimming ability and physical strength are poor, so the water level is consistent with or twice higher than the carapace. As they grow in size, the height of water level can also rise slowly. When they are adults, the height of water level can be controlled between 60 and 100 cm. Because deep water will make their carapace develop better, and deep water can make them have more room to move.
