The water level of razor turtle is different with different body types. The water level of juvenile razor turtle is shallower, and the height is consistent with or twice higher than the carapace. Because the young razor turtle has poor physical strength and swimming ability, although the water quality is better, it is easy to choke and drown when the water level is too deep, so it is best not to exceed twice the height of the carapace in childhood.

As they grow in size, so does the height of the water level. When they are adults, the water level can be deeper and the height can be between 60 and 100 cm. Although they can survive in deep water, breeders should also build a balcony for them, so as to ensure that they can quickly climb to the water for air. In addition, razor turtles like deep water, so breeders need to install a filter to ensure that the water quality is clean and refreshing.

Razor turtles do not require high water, and tap water for general household use is fine. But breeders need to expose tap water to the sun for 2-3 days before using it. Because tap water contains a lot of chlorine, it will affect the health of razor turtle.

Razor turtles like clean and refreshing water quality, and breeders need to change their water regularly, preferably once or twice a week, and half of the water can be changed each time.
