Musk turtles have strong adaptability, and they can accept the water temperature between 0-30 ℃. In spring, summer and autumn, breeders need to keep the water temperature between 21-26 ℃. In this temperature range, musk turtles have the highest activity and appetite, and their growth rate is also the fastest. However, the temperature is high in summer. Although they can be cold-resistant, they can't tolerate too high a temperature. Breeders need to prepare a shaded place for them and let the water temperature be lower than 28 ℃.
After winter, breeders don't need to keep the water temperature too high, because they need to hibernate in winter. After they go into hibernation, breeders only need to ensure that the water temperature is around 0-5 ℃.
2. What is the appropriate water level for musk turtlesAlthough musk turtles are deep-water turtles, the water level in their infancy should not be too high, because they were born soon and had poor swimming and physical strength, so the water level raised should not be too high, and the height control of the water level should be consistent with the height of the carapace. When they mature, their physical strength and swimming ability are gradually enhanced, and the water level of feeding can be raised. At this time, the water level can be controlled at 2-3 times of the height of the carapace, but the maximum should not exceed 3 times.
