Yellow-rimmed closed-shell turtles belong to semi-water turtles. They have many names, and they are called differently in different regions. Their common names are yellow-edged box turtle, splint turtle, snake turtle, broken board turtle and so on. Yellow-edged closed-shell turtle is a turtle of yellow-edged closed-shell turtle genus. Although they are semi-water turtles, they prefer to move on land. Generally, wild yellow-edged closed-shell turtles live in wet grass or bushes. The biggest difference between yellow-edged closed-shell turtles and other turtles is that their carapace and abdomen are connected by ligaments, so the body and carapace are connected together. The color of the head of the yellow-edged closed shell turtle is olive, and the head is smooth and scaleless. Most of the colors of the carapace are crimson or reddish brown, and there is an obvious bulge in the middle of the carapace, and the color is light yellow.

The yellow-edged closed-shell turtle is quiet during the day, often hiding in wet roots or crevices, but not far from clean water sources. The temperature at which they can survive is 0-43 ℃, between 18-24 ℃, with less activity in the morning and evening and more activity at noon. When the temperature is between 25-34 ℃, they all move in the evening or early morning. Yellow-edged closed-shell turtles have miscellaneous feeding habits, and mainly feed on insects and mollusks in the wild.
