Because there are many varieties of cichlids in the third lake, there is no completely correct unified method to distinguish male and female cichlid. In the actual breeding, we should distinguish its sex according to the characteristics of the specific varieties. However, Sanhu cichlid has a general characteristic, that is, the nipple of male Sanhu cichlid is very small and sharp, while the nipple of female Sanhu Cichlid is relatively large and round. In this way, the sex of the fish can be basically determined.
1. Horse bream: The anal fin of male horse bream is more pointed and sharp, while the anal fin of female horse bream is more blunt and round. In addition, the growth rate of male bream is faster, the individual is larger, and the color is earlier. The growth rate of female horse bream is slower, the individual is smaller, and the hair color is later.
2. Blue wave: The male and female of blue wave fish can be identified by the anal fin. The male blue wave fish will have many egg spots on the anal fin, while the female blue wave fish will have no egg spots on the anal fin.
3. Blue-faced butterflies: The male and female of blue-faced butterflies can be identified by the shape of their mouths. The male blue-faced butterfly's mouth protrudes forward, while the female blue-faced butterfly's mouth is curved and does not protrude forward.
The male and female cichlids of the three lakes can be raised together. Generally speaking, male and female fish will not fight. But there are occasional exceptions. If they are found fighting in the actual breeding, they need to be cultured in different tanks.
