How to raise flame turtles in winter depends on the choice of breeders. If breeders want them to hibernate, they should prepare hibernating places for them before hibernating, such as laying sand and straw in the tank. Before entering winter, they should be fed a lot of food, and then stop feeding, so that they can supplement nutrition without food residue in their bodies. When hibernating, the breeder needs to transfer the flame turtle indoors and keep the water temperature at about 8 ℃.

If breeders don't want them to hibernate, they can use heating rods to keep the water temperature above 20 ℃ all the time, so that they can survive the winter safely. However, after the flame turtle enters winter, its appetite will decrease, and breeders need to reduce the amount and frequency of feeding.
