The size of rat fish is much smaller than that of scavengers, and it will not exceed 10 cm under normal circumstances. When eating rat fish, they prefer vegetarian food, such as aquatic plants, algae, moss and other algae. Because they like to eat algae and leftover bait, they can be regarded as scavengers who clean the bottom of the water.

The optimum temperature of rat fish and scavenger fish is about 22-26 ℃, and their living environment is similar, so they can be mixed together.

When polyculture, we should pay attention to choosing a larger fish tank to provide them with a large enough living space. These two kinds of fish have a wide range of feeding habits, are not picky eaters, and are relatively easy to raise. But be careful to keep scavengers to ensure that they have enough food, otherwise they may eat small fish or gnaw at the eyes of other fish.
