Map turtles should not be raised together with musk turtles, because their bodies are not similar, musk turtles are smaller, map turtles are larger, and map fish are fierce and lively. If they are mixed together, map turtles will often bully or harass musk turtles. Map turtles have strong ability to grab food. If they are mixed together, it is difficult for musk turtles to grab food. In addition, musk turtles like to live in deep water. Although map turtles can also live in deep water, they can't live normally if the water level is too deep. Therefore, map turtles are not recommended to be raised with musk turtles.

Map turtles can be mixed with Brazilian turtles, yellow-eared turtles and grass turtles. Brazilian tortoises, yellow-eared tortoises and grass tortoises are not strict with the environment. They can accept high temperature and endure low temperature, and have low requirements on food and water quality, so they are very suitable for polyculture with map tortoises.

In polyculture, breeders need to prepare enough space for them, because these turtles are relatively large in size and highly active, and if there is not enough space for movement, there will be fights. In addition, in terms of feeding, breeders should also pay attention to the fact that map turtles have strong ability to grab food. Breeders can choose to feed them and then feed other turtles, or feed other turtles first and then map turtles.
