As time goes by, their size will also increase, and breeders should determine the water level according to their size. When they are adults, the water level can be controlled at 2-3 times the height of their carapace, so that they can live well in the water without drowning.

The water level of the tortoise in its infancy can be controlled below or 2 cm higher than the carapace. The height of water level in adulthood can be controlled at 2-3 times of the height of carapace, preferably not more than 3 times. In the process of breeding, they should not live in deep water for a long time. It is best to build a balcony or gentle slope for them to have a place to bask in the sun or rest. In this way, breeders do not need to take them out to bask in the sun every day, and they can choose their own time to bask in the sun.
