The horn snail is relatively easy to raise. It does not have high requirements for the environment, although it is an aerated water snail, but in freshwater conditions, as long as the food is sufficient, the environment is suitable, it can also survive well.
The following conditions should be met for raising the horned snail:
1. Temperature: The most suitable temperature for the growth of the horn snail is between 22 and 30 degrees. This temperature can make the horn snail most vigorous. Therefore, it is better to maintain between this temperature.
2. PH: The horn snail, like other soda snails, is suitable for living in an alkaline environment and can maintain the PH of water between 6 and 8. Acidic environment will corrode them, and their shells will slowly disappear or even lead to their death.
3. Hardness: The hard water environment can provide sufficient calcium, which can make the shell of the horn snail firm. Therefore, the water hardness can be maintained between 8 and 15.
4. Food: Horn snails do not require high food. It likes to eat all kinds of algae, especially green spot algae in the wall of the tank. Therefore, it can clean the fish tank and the grass tank. In addition, it also eats fish food and shrimp food residues. Some homemade snail food, such as cooked vegetables or snail powder containing calcium, is very popular with horn snails.
