Onion snail is better to raise the snail. Although they live in a soda environment, they can survive in fresh water or in poor water conditions. Their tolerance for the environment is relatively high.
To raise onion snails well, you only need to meet the conditions of temperature, pH, hardness, and food.
1. Temperature: Onion snails can adapt to a wide range of temperatures, probably between 15 and 38 degrees. Of course, because it is a subtropical survival of the snail, higher temperatures are more suitable for its survival.
2. PH: Onion snails like alkaline environment, and it is best to maintain the PH value between 7.5 and 8.0. Because the acidic environment can damage their shells and even corrode them as a whole.
3. Hardness: Onion snails need to live in hard water with rich calcium. Because the calcium-rich hard water environment can make their shells stronger and healthier, which is more conducive to their survival.
4. Food: Onion snails can eat many kinds of food, including algae, especially green spot algae in the tank wall, fish and shrimp feed residues, and even some cooked vegetables made by themselves, such as cabbage, cucumber, etc.
